We have designed this fish on the New Zealand snapper and have included a slightly bump on the head like a mature snapper starts to form. Scales are a notable and cool bit of detail that gives this fish character. This colour style is perfect for complementing earthy/neutral tones and materials like wood, stone, concrete, and steel. It enhances the space without overshadowing other decorative elements in the home.

Considerable effort by Sam has been put into meticulously heating the eyes, fins, and tail to achieve the vibrant colours you see. Our technique for controlling colour application involves patience and using a very small flame to prevent the colour from bleeding into the rest of the fish. Years of practice have refined this technique. Initially, the gold colour appears, and with continued application of heat, it transitions into shades of blue, red, and purple. We strive to include the full range of colours on each fish.

This artwork is perfect for illuminating any area or can be paired with a larger single fish. It's ideal for those narrow spaces in your home that are often challenging to decorate, such as between windows, doors, walls, pillars, or among random objects. Additionally, its vertical construction makes it a unique and striking addition.

Creating each fish involves a meticulous 15-step process, beginning with the use of premium 316 marine-grade stainless steel. Once the design is finalized, it is precisely cut with a laser cutter, followed by thorough cleaning of the front, back, and edges. Without revealing all our secrets, further steps include colouring, shaping and forming, placing the Paua/abalone shell eye, applying a clear coat spray, and assembling. This meticulous attention to detail ensures every piece is uniquely handcrafted meaning no two pieces are ever quite the same! Easy to install with a single screw hole mount concealed behind the fish. Easy to change the angle/direction of the school once mounted on your wall. Comes in its own box with mounting screw included along with Jiwa steel information for your convenience.
