Rolf & Claudia’s School

110 fish have been used with 5 different species of fish. 
Rolf & Claudia came to visit us at our gallery / workshop, Rolf was very well organised with detailed photos, measurements and drawings of their ideas for their very own custom fish school. It was to go above the tv, work in with the ceiling features of wood beams and most important cover a large hole and old switch that was no longer in use.
Janine & I really love doing this kind of thing. It can be a little tense at times working with Specific measurements that need to be spot on but at the same time once it’s hung and has nailed the brief is hugely satisfying. 😊🎣😊
Rolf & Claudia really liked our hand painted blue style and chose 5 different species to include on their one piece. They had the Genius idea to incorporate same of our small kingis that included a touch of yellow colouring along the middle fillet which I think personally was a touch of brilliance in bring a different colour in along side the blues & silver.

Moon fish hand painted blue with strips from the grinder vertical along the body. 
Our skinner Baitfish hand painted blue on their fins, eye and tail. 
The main part of the body is left silver and with the shape of these fish it really gives the school direction. 
Our fatter round looking baitfish coloured the same way but look totally different with their rounder body shape compared to their longer friends. 
Kingfish which are recognisable by their slightly pointed nose and dorsal fin. It was a Genius idea to include these fish in the school as it brought a touch of yellow into a piece dominated by blue. It really added something 👌 Great idea Rolf & Claudia 🤛

Our undersize snapper which we always engrave scales on along the main part of the fillet. This adds that extra bit of detail that really pops once you notice it and adds to the overall look of the school.
