Snapper Whanau

This piece was custom made for Warrick & Judy Hyland, as seen on grand designs 2022. 
We used 3 different sized snapper, our  
Under sized Snapper, Barely legal snapper and our Pan sized Snapper. Bringing them all together on one lager piece we came up with the title

“Snapper Whanau” (family)

The colours where chosen to match the tones throughout the house. We have achieved this with our heat treated style of colouring. All our pieces are created from 316 marine grade stainless steel then heavily lacquered/clear coat sprayed to give the colours a deep glossy shine and durability. We have engraved scales along all the snappers body’s and inserted paua shell pieces for there eyes. 
Multiple layers of grinding across and along the fish and backing give the effect of flowing water throughout the school. These gives our pieces lots of movement and depth. 
Using the three different sizes of snapper has allowed us to balance the flow of the school really well. Easily installed via a stainless steel chain attached on the back. With our larger pieces I offer to deliver and install. Can be made to suit any size or setting.
